Dulcísimo Jesús mío

As far as the Catholic faithful of southern Colorado and northern New Mexico ara concerned, they make no pilgrimages to the shrine, Their veneration is restricted to the singing of alabados in honor of the Cristo de Mapimí. Three of these hymns, numbers 35 to 37, are included here.

1. Dulcísimo Jesús mío
compadécete de mí;
venid todos a adorar
al Señor de Mapimí.

Sweet Jesus mine,
Thy mercy give to me;
Come, come, all ye and praise
The Christ of Mapimí.

2. La grande misericordia,
desde los cielos aquí,
vino a buscar a las almas
del Señor de Mapimí.

To here from Heaven
that mercy came from Thee
To fetch the souls,
The Lord of Mapimí.

3. Yo soy la oveja perdida,
que sospiraba por tí
y viene a que la reciba
el Senor de Mapimí.

I am the lost sheep,
Who longed for Thee,
Here He came to receive me,
The Christ of Mapimí.

4. Si por mis grandes pecados
estás en la cruz por mí,
espero me ha de salvar
el Señor de Mapimí.

If for my many sins,
You bear the Cross for me,
I hope I will be saved
By the Christ of Mapimí.

5. Ese jardín que allí vemos
y veneramos aquí
es la rosa más frondosa
del Señor de Mapimí.

That garden which we worship here,
Which there beyond we see
Is the most precious jewel
Of the Christ of Mapimí.

6. Entre las nueve y las diez,
el Calvario recibí,
son las tres necesidades
del Señor de Mapimí.

Between the hours of nine and ten
I received the Calvary,
They are the three necessities
Of the Lord of Mapimí.

7. Campanitas de Belén,
todas repiquen aquí
para adorar y ensalzar
al Señor de Mapimí.

Here let the bells of Bethlehem
Ring clear and free
To glorify and worship
The Christ of Mapimí.

desde los cielos aquí
y yo cubierto en el manto
del Señor de Mapimí.

The five curtains closed
From Heaven to here, I'll be
Sheltered in the mantel
of the Lord of Mapimí.

11. Por piedad que nos perdone,
y lo esperamos así,
con la santa bendición
del Señor de Mapimí.

Forgive us, in Thy pity,
Is what we hope from Thee,
By the holy invocation
Of the Christ of Mapimí.

12. Si las culpas que cometo
me duraren hasta aquí,
espero me las perdone
el Señor de Mapimí.

If the faults which I commit

13. Míralo allí en esa cruz,
yo os adoro desde aquí,
el corazón amoroso
del Señor de Mapimá.

Behold Him on the Cross,
From here adored by me,
The heart compassionate
Of the Lord of Mapimí.

14. Todos con buen corazón
pidámosle desde aquí,
nos dé la paz y la unión
el Señor de Mapimí.

Let all with trusting hearts
Beg this of Thee,

del Señor de Mapimí.

In Thy heavenly Kingdom,
Being close to Thee,

pongan al fin hasta aquí,

del Señor de Mapimí.

By the crown of thorns end cruel nails
They gave to Thee,
I acclaim the five wounds
Of the Lord of Mapimí.

18. Adiós, mi Padre querido,
ya me despido de ti,
cantando las alabanzas
del Señor de Mapimí.

Farewell, beloved Father,
I say farewell to Thee,
Singing the praises
Of the Lord of Mapimí.

We have two versions of this alabado , the above, from Manassa, and one from Cerro, which we present under the subsequent number 37 and the title " Oh , dulcísimo Jesús ," for the reason that the initial stanza and the tune are different.
